オリジナル・メンバーが２人脱退した後に制作された。
またグレッグ・ローリーとニール・ショーンはこのアルバムを最後に脱退しジャーニーを結成する。
サンタナの代表作の１つで評価は高いが、私はこれまでの４枚の中では馴染みづらいアルバムだ。
７割がインストでラテン、フュージョン色が強くなっている。
ギタリストがリーダーなのに、パーカッション・アルバムのようだ。
このアルバムの曲からはアルバム・カヴァーの絵は浮かばない。
